At GUA·QUYE , we envision a Nature-positive oriented future established and consolidated by local communities within the tropical high-mountain environments of Colombia.

What we do

We have established a place that supports innovation-based projects on Agroforestry, founded on co-creation principles to share and learn. These projects are always conceived to benefit rural and scientific communities by building bridges among their collective needs.

Our Achievements

The natural ecosystems that have sustained our life-style and health are threatened by our relationship with nature. At GUA·QUYE Agrogorestal, we want to contribute to change this relationship by nurturing new ideas that improve the cohabitation of humans and nature. Our priority is to restore and protect tropical high-mountain ecosystems, while we support local communities with productive sustainable alternatives

Meaning of GUA·QUYE

Words on indigenous languages usually imply complex concepts instead of an unique meaning. Our name, in Muisca language, combines two words of this type ‘GUA’, associated with ‘high-land covered with plants and trees’; and ‘QUYE’, associated with ‘wood, trees’. We use a ‘dot’ between both words to connect this complexity and to represent the possibility of multiplying what we do.

At GUA·QUYE Agroforestal, we are aware that everything is connected. Therefore, we work on the tropical high-lands of Colombia to beneficiate the entire planet!"
