About the event

The now tradicional “Coffee Gathering” will take place again this year in Damlos, directly where the Community Garden is located. GUA·QUYE will be participating among locals to share the main advances on the work generated around the garden.

Why it is important?

These type of *social gatherings actively involve the community on advances, difficulties, new perspectives, and ideas around the Garden. Moreover, this is a space created to listen people’s dreams about the future of the Garden, its uses and further development. We will do all this, while sharing a traditional time in Germany, Coffee and cake (Kaffee und Kuchen).

One of the main topics to cover is the work developed on Geo-locating each tree in the Garden using Open Source tools and all the information generated around this work: varieties identification, harvest, soil, etc.)

The activity seeks to involve the community around Citizen science projects to keep the knowledge on the traditional fruit tree varieties and to identify other plant species around the garden space and their importance to this ecosystem. Everyone is welcome!
