ASORALAC - GUA·QUYE

In 2025, we started and kept our cooperation with the Asociación Soraquense Productora de Lácteos - ASORALAC (Soraca’s Dairy Association).

Using free/open software tools, we visited and Geolocate the 42 farms of the association members.

Our objective is to involve local community in the acknowledgment of their territory, raising awareness over the impact each person has over their surroundings, but also in the region.

Our work aims to establish Agroforestry Systems in this tropical high-mountain areas of Colombia.

More over, we are using this information to build a solid system to help us take better decisions over this ecosystem, while we support the community of producers in our region.

This year we had MSc. Michelle Mascardo visiting us, who made valuable work to our project and supported our join application to the Terre des Femmes 2026 to obtain i nternational support to reach the goals we have established.

We started to collect information about needs, opportunities, weaknesses, and strengths of the association and the knowledge they have on Agroforestry systems, Silviculture, Efficient Cattle Management and how to implement this, within the rural area of the Municipality.
