About the call

At GUA·QUYE we are a proud team that enables sustainable projects following the Water-Food-Energy nexus with the addition of forest and land restoration systems (WEF+F nexus) in the tropical high mountains of Colombia. Our base project is located in Soracá (Boyacá), but we are willing to go further!

You can be part of us!

• We are looking for people with a good team-work spirit, able to work independently (never alone!) to reach our goals.

• As Volunteer, you should be willing to spend a minimum of 3 hours weekly to collaborate on different task regarding our different projects. These tasks include: Site characterization, landscape planning, water management, irrigation design, and plant/tree species selection.

• Other specific tasks are framed within the community management, project management, crowd funding, and project and proposals writing. All activities are designed to contributing to research, climate change mitigation, adaptation, and food security.

• Our projects are goal oriented in the long term, therefore we are looking for compromise and constancy in your work.

• As an international team, we use Spanish and English as our working languages. However, we are aware of great talent around the world, so we have consider a plus to be able to collaborate with people that speak other languages as well! (Arhuaco, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, Arabic, etc)

• If you have specific knowledge on agriculture, forestry, GIS, CAD, permaculture, water management, community management, and are currently part of a University or technical institution, we encourage you to work with us.

• Moreover, If you are originally coming from Colombia we specially appreciate your participation in our activities!

You will have the chance to work on an international environment, and participate in events, lectures, seminars and more important practical work involving our activities. Moreover, we are constantly visiting our working sites and we always need an extra hand in every place!
