About Event

After our successful participation in the first Workshop of UNESCO’s World Network of Mountain Biosphere Reserves (WMNBR) held in Dujiangyan City, China in 2023, GUA·QUYE Agroforestal returns to the second live meeting of the WNMBR to continue our work.

This network meeting was focused on advancing our current plans to establish swift communication among members, thereby enhancing internal and external collaboration, strengthening leadership within the network, and discussing the progress of key projects. These include the Glacier’s Monitoring and Conservation project, the Cultural Giants initiative, the UNU-WNMBR Internship program, and the WNMBR Exchange Program.

We aim to bolster the conservation of natural and cultural heritage and promote sustainable development in mountain regions through enhanced cooperation and knowledge exchange among mountain biosphere reserves worldwide.

We are getting ready for the 5th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves to be held in China (09.2025). There,we will also contribute with our work to consolidate our network and helping define the route to follow in the coming 10 years, with emphasis in biodiversity, woman empowerment, and youth.
